The members had an opportunity to learn and show their camera skills at the Club meeting on Tuesday, 2nd December.

The evening was described in the programme as ‘Members practical evening.’ Colleagues and friends of members had set up tabletop displays that could be photographed. There was a wide range of subjects from vintage cameras to Lego trains running past impressive buildings to flowers and macro photography using a complicated computer-controlled imaging system.

A colleague of a members had brought his Lego model of a Lamborghini car that had a detailed engine compartment and gull wing doors. It was a most impressive collection of Lego that members had even seen and were clearly keen to photograph.

The flowers in a vase had suitable lighting provided by member Brian Collins.

The display of vintage and collectable cameras included models from Mike Lloyd and the first camera given to member David Collins on his 11th birthday. The Kodak Brownie 127 complete with its original canvas case had started his interest in photography that has continued into the age of digital photography and the mobile phone camera.

Mike Lloyd had also brought a Weston Master light meter that he had used before manufacturers introduced metering and focussing as a standard fitting.

All members agreed that the evening was a great success that could become a regular part of the club’s future programme.
